Dental Crown Implants – Replacing Missing Teeth

Losing a tooth can make you feel less than confident about your appearance. In addition, losing a tooth can start a chain reaction that increases the risk of misalignment and even further tooth loss. However, with dental implants Dr. Pun and our team can replace a tooth with a durable and lifelike prosthesis. Crown implants can help you enjoy a full smile again.

What are Crown Implants?

With crown implants we replace individual teeth one at a time. A dental implant will be placed and a crown added to restore the visible portion of the tooth. We use a crown because the porcelain material is strong, stain-resistant, and mimics the appearance of natural teeth, blending with your smile seamlessly.

What Does Receiving a Prosthesis Involve?

First, the dental implant will be surgically inserted into the jawbone. The titanium material in the post bonds with the jawbone in a process known as Osseointegration. After the area heals, the doctor will add an abutment to the post. The abutment allows the doctor to attach the dental crown, completing the new tooth.

Do I Qualify for a Prosthesis?

Crown implants are popular because they are long lasting, easy to care for, and natural looking. To qualify, you should have gum tissue free of periodontal disease. You will also need enough jawbone tissue to support the implant posts. We will assess these factors and decide if implant crowns are the best choice for replacing your missing tooth.
